Charles XI or Carl (Swedish: Karl XI; 4 December [O.S. 24 November] 1655 – 15 April [O.S. 5 April] 1697) was King of Sweden from 1660 until his death, in a period of Swedish history known as the Swedish Empire (1611–1721).
Karl XI, född 24 november 1655, död 5 april 1697, [a] var kung av Sverige från 1660 till sin död. Han regerade även från 1681 som hertig Karl I över Pfalz-Zweibrücken. Han var son till Karl X Gustav och Hedvig Eleonora av Holstein-Gottorp samt gift med Ulrika Eleonora av Danmark (1656–1693).
Karl XI. aus dem Adelsgeschlecht der Wittelsbacher war von 1660 bis 1697 König von Schweden, in Personalunion von 1681 bis 1697 als Karl I. auch Herzog von Pfalz-Zweibrücken und als Karl XI. von 1660 bis 1697 Herzog des Herzogtums Bremen-Verden.

Charles XII, sometimes Carl XII (Swedish: Karl XII) or Carolus Rex (17 June 1682 – 30 November 1718 O.S.), was King of Sweden (including current Finland) from 1697 to 1718. He belonged to the House of Palatinate-Zweibrücken , a branch line of the House of Wittelsbach .
