  2. His son, Lionel Tollemache, Lord Huntingtower pre-deceased him and the title was inherited by his grandson, Lionel Tollemache, 4th Earl of Dysart in 1727. The 4th Earl was elected High Steward of Ipswich and Knight of the Thistle. The title passed to the 4th Earl's eldest son, Lionel, who became 5th Earl in 1770.

  3. Sir Lionel died 1668/9 and his wife, Countess of Dysart in her own right, in 1698, when she was succeeded by their eldest son Lionel, 4th bart and 3rd Earl (The Complete Peerage). Thence the earldom of Dysart and the lordship of the manors of Ham and Petersham descended together in the Tollemache family until the twentieth century.
