Louis VII (1120 – 18 September 1180), called the Younger, or the Young (French: le Jeune), was King of France from 1137 to 1180. He was the son and successor of King Louis VI (hence the epithet "the Young") and married Duchess Eleanor of Aquitaine, one of the wealthiest and most powerful women in western Europe.

Louis VII, né vers 1120, fut roi de France de 1137 à 1180. Il est le fils et successeur de Louis VI. Par son mariage en 1137 avec Aliénor d'Aquitaine, il permettait au domaine royal de s'agrandir considérablement avec le duché d'Aquitaine et le comté de Poitou, Marche ; Saintonge, Limousin, Angoumois.

Louis VII (c. 1120 — 18 September 1180) nicknamed the Young or the Younger (French: le Jeune) was the King of France from 1137 until his death in 1180. He was the second son of King Louis VI of France and his second wife, Adélaide de Maurienne. As the second son, he was never expected to become king.
