La maison de Chalencon est une famille féodale originaire du Velay, attestée dès 1179 en la personne de Bertrand de Chalencon. Selon Régis Valette , sa filiation est suivie depuis 1205 1 . Sa branche ainée prit le nom de Polignac après 1349, devenant ainsi la seconde maison de Polignac (voir Maison de Polignac ).

The Château de Chalencon is a feudal monument situated in the hamlet of Chalencon, about 1 kilometre north east of the village of Saint-André-de-Chalencon, in the Haute-Loire département, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of France.
