Maurice of Saxe-Zeitz (28 March 1619 – 4 December 1681) was a duke of Saxe-Zeitz and member of the House of Wettin. Born in Dresden , he was the youngest surviving son of John George I, Elector of Saxony , and his second wife Magdalene Sibylle of Prussia .

El duque Mauricio de Wettin (en alemán: Moritz von Sachsen-Zeitz ; Dresde, 28 de marzo de 1619 - Zeitz, 4 de diciembre de 1681) fue un noble alemán, integrante de la línea albertina de la casa de Wettin que rigió el ducado segundogénito de Sajonia-Zeitz .

The only rulers were Duke Maurice of Saxe-Zeitz and his son Duke Moritz Wilhelm of Saxe-Zeitz. This line was the first of the three Saxon secundogenitures to die out in 1718, when the only male heir, Prince Christian August , joined the clergy. [1]
