Michael France was born in 1962. He graduated from the University of Florida and attended Columbia University's School Of The Arts. His breakthrough screenplay was his 1991 spec sale for Cliffhanger to Carolco Pictures - the movie was shot within the year and became a worldwide hit in 1993 for Sylvester Stallone and Renny Harlin.
