Nathan Scott (May 11, 1915 – February 27, 2010) was an American film score and television composer. He composed, conducted, arranged and orchestrated more than 850 separate credits in television, as well as the music for more than 100 films.

LOS ANGELES—Nathan Scott, composer of dozens of episodes of TV’s Dragnet and Lassie during the 1950s and ’60s, died of age-related causes Feb. 27, 2010, at his home in Sherman Oaks, Calif. He was 94.
Nathan Scott, a film and television composer, arranger and conductor whose credits include composing music for the TV classics “Dragnet" and “Lassie," has died. He was 94. Scott, the father of jazz saxophonist and composer-arranger Tom Scott, died Saturday of age-related causes at his home in Sherman Oaks, said his daughter, Linda Colley.
Nathan Scott, (May 11, 1915 – February 27, 2010) Composer, arranger and conductor. After majoring in music at UC Berkeley, Scott worked as an arranger for Bing Crosby's music director, John Scott Trotter. Known for his work on the popular TV shows Dragnet and Lassie in the 50s and 60s.
