Bad Rodach ist die Wiege der Europäischen Nachtwächter- und Türmerzunft, die 1987 im dänischen Ebeltoft gegründet wurde. Walter Kienel, nach Wolfgang Grosch der zweite Rodacher Nachtwächter, war von der Gründung der Zunft bis zum Jahr 2004 Zunftmeister dieser europäischen Gemeinschaft.
