The film was released in Italy on 24 August 1913, distributed by Giuseppe Barattolo. It was distributed in the US by the Kleine Optical Company under the name George Kleine Attractions. The Last Days of Pompeii was the first film shown in the newly founded city of Tel Aviv, then in Ottoman Palestine.
Caesar Film was an Italian film production and distribution company founded in 1913. The studio's owner Giuseppe Barattolo built it into one of the more successful silent film companies of the 1910s, thanks partly to signing up the diva Francesca Bertini to make a series of films. [1]
