Timothy J. Palmer (born 4 October 1962, in North Shields) is an English record producer, audio engineer, guitarist and songwriter of rock and alternative music. He mixed Pearl Jam 's debut album Ten (1991) and tracks on U2's album All That You Can't Leave Behind (2000).
Tim is proud to play an active role in The Recording Academy/Grammys. He has been a board member in Texas since 2012 and has served 2 terms as a National Trustee. XL Recordings is a British independent record label founded in 1989 by Tim Palmer and Nick Halkes. It has been run and co-owned by Richard Russell since 1996. It forms part of the Beggars Group. It releases an average of six albums a year. The label releases albums worldwide and operates across a range of genres.
Tim Palmer mixed Ten for Pearl Jam, which is now in the top 50 best-selling albums of all time and the album was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2021. In 2001, Tim was nominated for a Grammy for his mixing work on U2’s All That You Can’t Leave Behind. The album went on to win a Grammy for ‘Best Rock Album’.

Tim has been moderator for 2 years at SXSW, and a guest speaker for the Recording Academy.
