Valdemar's Castle (Danish: Valdemars Slot) is a manor house situated on the island of Tåsinge near Svendborg in southern Denmark. [1] History. Valdemar's Castle was commissioned by King Christian IV (1588–1648) and built between 1639 and 1644 under the plans designed by architect Hans van Steenwinckel d.y. (1587–1639).

30 de ago. de 2022 · Valdemar’s Castle lies in a breathtakingly beautiful landscape surrounded by water on almost all sides – which seems appropriate considering that a naval hero has played a big role in shaping the place as we know it today. However, the name of the castle comes from one of its previous owners: Christian IV's son Valdemar Christian.
