Victor Gollancz Ltd (/ ɡ ə ˈ l æ n t s /) was a major British book publishing house of the twentieth century. It was founded in 1927 by Victor Gollancz and specialised in the publication of high quality literature, nonfiction and popular fiction, including crime, detective, mystery, thriller and science fiction.

The Making of the English Working Class [1] is a work of English social history written by E. P. Thompson, a New Left historian. It was first published in 1963 by Victor Gollancz Ltd, [2] and republished in revised form in 1968 by Pelican, [3] after which it became an early Open University set book.
