Latakia District (Arabic: منطقة اللاذقية, romanized: manṭiqat al-Lādhiqīyah) is a district of the Latakia Governorate in northwestern Syria. The administrative centre is the city of Latakia. At the 2004 census, the district had a population of 526,888.

Latakia Governorate ( Arabic: مُحافظة اللاذقية / ALA-LC: Muḥāfaẓat al-Lādhiqīyah) is one of the fourteen governorates (provinces) of Syria. It is in western Syria, bordering Turkey.
Latakia, city and muhafazah (governorate), northwestern Syria. The city is situated on the low-lying Ra’s Ziyarah promontory that projects into the Mediterranean Sea. Known to the Phoenicians as Ramitha, it replaced the earlier settlement of Ugarit (Ra’s Shamra) to the north.
