Ardengo Soffici (n. en Rignano sull'Arno, el 7 de abril de 1879 - Forte dei Marmi, f. el 12 de agosto de 1964) fue un escritor y pintor italiano. Biografía [ editar ] Soffici era miembro de una familia de agricultores que en la primavera de 1893 se trasladó a Florencia por problemas económicos, sin que ello les permitiera evitar la ruina.

Ardengo Soffici’s engagement with African art was mediated by French modernism and led him to articulate a painterly aesthetic at once ‘primitive’ and classical. Soffici moved to Paris in 1900, and after his return to Florence in 1907 devoted himself to updating Italian art by promoting French modernism.
