10 de dic. de 2022 · Western Golf Cart Manufacturing was a leader in the production of electric golf carts and built special editions like this one for the annual Bob Hope Chrysler Desert Classic Tournament. This one is said to be from 1985 and is the Golf & Country edition.
The Bob Hope Classic, founded in 1960, made history in 1995 when Hope teed up for the opening round in a foursome that included Presidents Gerald Ford, George H. W. Bush, and Bill Clinton, the only time three U.S. presidents played in the same golf foursome.
30 de may. de 2021 · Bob Hope's 1970 custom Cushman golf cart was build by famous custom car builder George Barris, who also built iconic TV cars like the Batmobile, Munsters car and I think the Beverly Hillbillies truck. The cart was auction off after Hope's death and is owned by a unknown person, but was seen at a golf tournament in La Quinta CA in January 2018.
