Programme Description International students from all subjects (except the medical disciplines) who have been admitted to a doctoral programme at a German higher education institution are eligible to apply for the scholarship.

The Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung was founded in 1925 with the goal to support poor German students from a blue-collar background to study at German universities, as they could not afford tuition fees on their own. Therefore, supporting talented and socially-committed young people continues to be part of FES's mission.
