Jean Renoir ( París, 15 de septiembre de 1894- Beverly Hills, 12 de febrero de 1979) fue un director de cine, guionista y actor francés. Era el segundo hijo del famoso pintor impresionista Pierre-Auguste Renoir .
His films La Grande Illusion (1937) and The Rules of the Game (1939) are often cited by critics as among the greatest films ever made. [1] . He was ranked by the BFI 's Sight & Sound poll of critics in 2002 as the fourth greatest director of all time.
