The Manhattan Transfer. American vocal music group founded in 1969, performing a cappella, vocalese, swing, standards, Brazilian jazz, rhythm and blues, and pop music. There have been two manifestations of the group, with Tim Hauser being the only person to be part of both.

Sus inicios. Al principio actuaban en clubes de jazz neoyorquinos y, dada la buena acogida del público, grabaron su disco de presentación The Manhattan Transfer en 1975. Posteriormente les siguieron los discos Coming Out y Pastiche, de buen éxito en Estados Unidos, pero que fueron aún mejor recibidos en Europa.
