The Battle of Waterloo ( Dutch pronunciation: [ˈʋaːtərloː] ⓘ) was fought on Sunday 18 June 1815, near Waterloo (at that time in the United Kingdom of the Netherlands, now in Belgium ), marking the end of the Napoleonic Wars.
