Alfred Leopold Isidor Kubin (10 de abril de 1877 – 20 de agosto de 1959) fue un escritor e ilustrador expresionista austriaco, descendiente de ancestros checos. Kubin nació en Leitmeritz, Bohemia, que entonces era parte del Imperio austrohúngaro. Desde 1892 hasta 1896 estudió fotografía.
Alfred Kubin was a Bohemian printmaker and illustrator who became an important figure of both the Symbolist and Expressionist movements. His inventive black-and-white drawings often featured fantastical or morbid elements, and depicted supernatural creatures and sexual violence.

Alfred Leopold Isidor Kubin (10 April 1877 – 20 August 1959) was an Austrian printmaker, illustrator, and occasional writer. Kubin is considered an important representative of Symbolism and Expressionism.
Kubin produced a small number of oil paintings in the years between 1902 and 1910, but thereafter his output consisted of pen and ink drawings, watercolors, and lithographs. In 1911, he became associated with the Blaue Reiter group, and exhibited with them in the Galerie Der Sturm in Berlin in 1913. [2]
