The Roosevelt dime is the current dime, or ten-cent piece, of the United States. Struck by the United States Mint continuously since 1946, it displays President Franklin D. Roosevelt on the obverse and was authorized soon after his death in 1945.

The Roosevelt dime was designed by John R. Sinnock to honor President Franklin D. Roosevelt, in part for his work in helping to found the National Foundation for Infantile Paralysis (later renamed the March of Dimes), which raised money to aid in polio research and victims of the disease.
The obverse of the current dime depicts the profile of President Franklin D. Roosevelt and the reverse boasts an olive branch, a torch, and an oak branch, from left to right respectively. The word dime comes from the Old French disme ( Modern French dîme), meaning " tithe " or "tenth part", from the Latin decima [pars] . [1]
