Marianne Faithfull was an actor and a famous pop singer herself. These were not women who glommed on to a man for their money or fame.

Patricia Anne Boyd (born 17 March 1944) is an English model and photographer. She was one of the leading international models during the 1960s and, with Jean Shrimpton, epitomised the British female look of the era.

For a time McCartney lived at the Asher family home in London, and a number of his songs were inspired by their relationship. I always feel very wary including Jane in The Beatles’ history.
