Ford Motor Company Limited, trading as Ford of Britain, is a British wholly owned subsidiary of Ford Technologies Limited (formerly called Blue Oval Holdings), itself a subsidiary of Ford International Capital LLC, which is a subsidiary of Ford Motor Company. Its business started in 1909 and has its registered office in Laindon, Essex.
Henry Ford changed the way of life for many people with his vision to make owning a car practical and affordable. The moving assembly line and mass production techniques he developed set the standard for worldwide industrial practice in the first half of the 20th Century.

Ford is the second largest family-controlled company in the world, as the Ford family have controlled the company since its founding over 110 years ago. They also manufactured the only car Jim Morrison ever owned (a 1967 Shelby GT 500). But how did Ford survive two world wars and the Great Depression?
From the original Model Y(sold as the Ford Junior in most of Europe), Ford of Britain went from success to success, with small cars like the Model C (1172 cc) to a wide range of Fordson trucks. During WW II, Ford of Britain was a major defense contractor.
4 de oct. de 2012 · Favoured by first time buyers, Ford cars have had a long and varied history as the product of this innovative and ever-changing company. The first Ford car which was imported to the UK was the Ford Model A, brought to our shores in 1903.
