Gran Este (en francés: Grand Est; en alemán: Großer Osten) 1 es una de las trece regiones metropolitanas que, junto con los territorios de ultramar, conforman las dieciocho regiones de la República Francesa. Su capital y ciudad más poblada es Estrasburgo.
The region sits astride three water basins ( Seine, Meuse and Rhine ), spanning an area of 57,433 km 2 (22,175 sq mi), the fifth largest in France; it includes two mountain ranges ( Vosges and Ardennes ). It shares borders with Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany and Switzerland.
Grand Est, region of France created in 2016 by the union of the former regions of Alsace, Lorraine, and Champagne-Ardenne. It is bounded by Hauts-de-France and Ile-de-France to the west and Bourgogne–Franche-Comte to the south. Belgium and Luxembourg lie to the north, Germany to the east, and Switzerland to the south.
