The flag of the Kingdom of Galicia and Lodomeria, used from 1890 to 1918. History. The Kingdom of Galicia and Lodomeria was a constituent possession of the Habsburg monarchy, that existed from 1772 to 1918. [1] The banner of Galicia and Lodomeria flown in 1618 during the coronation of King Ferdinand II.
Flag. Until 1849, Galicia and Lodomeria was a single province with Bukovina and used the blue-red flag (consisting of two horizontal stripes: the upper one was blue, the lower one was red). In 1849, Bukovina was given an independent status from that of Galicia-Lodomeria and kept the blue-red flag.
