The Province of Georgia (also Georgia Colony) was one of the Southern Colonies in colonial-era British America. In 1775 it was the last of the Thirteen Colonies to support the American Revolution. The original land grant of the Province of Georgia included a narrow strip of land that extended west to the Pacific Ocean.

The form of the landscape and the climate of the area influenced the development of vegetation and animal life in each of these provinces.
The official name of the country is Georgia per Article 2 of the Georgian Constitution. In Georgia's two official languages (Georgian and Abkhaz), the country is named საქართველო (Sak'art'velo) and Қырҭтәыла (Kərttʷʼəla) respectively.
