Our Zoo has more than 12,000 animals representing about 500 species, of which nearly 50 are covered by the European Endangered species Programme (EEP). The mission of the Zoo is integrated nature protection aiming at ensuring the sustainability of species.

Opened in 1928, the zoo covers about 40 hectares (99 acres) in central Warsaw, and sees over 700,000 visitors annually, making it one of the most popular zoos in Poland. It is home to over 11,000 animals representing more than 500 species.
The Warsaw Zoo is extensive, well laid out, with beautiful grounds and many exotic animals to enjoy as a family. But if, like us, you are interested in World War II history, you must visit the home of the zookeepers, the home of the Zabinski family, tucked away on the zoo grounds.
