Barry McGuire (born October 15, 1935) is an American singer-songwriter primarily known for his 1965 hit "Eve of Destruction". He later pioneered as a singer and songwriter of contemporary Christian music.

Barry McGuire was born on October 15, 1935 in Oklahoma City. His parents divorced when he was two years old, and Barry moved to California with his mother, who later remarried. Barry’s stepfather worked construction in and around Los Angeles.
