Cooley High. Chicago, 1964: it’s the end of high school for aspiring poet Preach and his best friend, Cochise, and they have a full slate of extracurricular activities: swinging dance parties, late-night joyrides, and the stumbling pursuit of romance.

In 1964, a group of high school friends who live on the Near North Side of Chicago enjoy life to the fullest...parties, hanging out, meeting new friends. Then life changes for two of the guys when they meet a pair of career criminals and get falsely arrested in connection with stealing a Cadillac.
At its heart, Cooley High is the story of two guys — a wannabe writer, Preach, and a star basketball player, Cochise — who are best friends on the eve of high school graduation in 1964.
In 1964, in the Cabrini-Green project of Chicago, African-American high school senior LeRoy “Preach” Jackson and his best friend Richard “Cochise” Morris attend Cooley High, a vocational school, along with their good friends Pooter, Willie and Tyrone.
