Otto Ludwig Preminger ( / ˈprɛmɪndʒər / PREM-in-jər, [1] German: [ˈɔtoː ˈpreːmɪŋɐ] ⓘ; 5 December 1905 – 23 April 1986) [2] was an Austrian-American theatre and film director, film producer, and actor. He directed more than 35 feature films in a five-decade career after leaving the theatre.

Otto Preminger nació el 5 de diciembre de 1906 en Viena ( Austria ). Hijo de un magistrado, el futuro cineasta siguió durante algunos años sus pasos. Estudió abogacía antes de dedicarse al teatro. Se inició como actor a la edad de diecisiete años en la compañía de Max Reinhardt.
