"Revolution 9" is a sound collage from the Beatles' 1968 self-titled double album (also known as the "White Album"). The composition, credited to Lennon–McCartney, was created primarily by John Lennon with assistance from Yoko Ono and George Harrison.

The recording emerged from ‘Revolution 1’, the final six minutes of which formed a lengthy, mostly instrumental jam.

The next session for “Revolution 9” was on June 20th, 1968, the session beginning at 7 pm. George and Ringo were finally back in the country and George (but not Ringo) was present on this day, but Paul had flown out to New York at 6 pm, an hour before the session began, and therefore was not present.

It has long been claimed that he was disappointed by its inclusion on the White Album, but Paul was – contrary to popular belief – not at all against the inclusion of a sound collage.
