Grade later commented that he thought Baker’s portrayal of the Doctor was – “utterly unlikeable; absolutely God-awful in fact!”

31 de mar. de 2023 · Colin Baker holds the dubious distinction of being the only actor to be fired from the role. Baker's story is definitely one of the more disappointing reasons why every Doctor Who quit, but it turned out to be better for the overall series in the end.
Following the conclusion of Season 23, Baker was dismissed as the Doctor at the insistence of BBC management, who wanted to refresh the show. The Controller of BBC One at the time, Michael Grade, believed Doctor Who had become outdated, with overly violent, farcial storylines.
