Timbertop is a full-time boarding, co-educational campus of Geelong Grammar School located near Mansfield, Victoria, Australia. [1] A map of the Timbertop Campus, Merrijig, VIC. Established in 1953, by then Headmaster James Darling, Timbertop is compulsory for all year-nine students attending Geelong Grammar School. [2] .
Referred to as "BKO" by the commission, the witness described the school's Timbertop campus, where Prince Charles spent two terms in 1966, as "similar to Lord of the Flies". BKO said the school was concerned only with avoiding scandal, rather than stopping the abuse.

Responsibility, challenge and independence. Unit life is integral to the experience of Timbertop. The feelings of independence that result from living with and relying on others are central to Timbertop’s success. There are sixteen Units (eight for boys and eight for girls).
