Bathory es considerada una de los grupos de metal extremo más influyentes de todos los tiempos. La banda ayudó a crear el black metal junto a los ingleses Venom con sus tres primeros álbumes, y el viking metal con sus álbumes posteriores.
Según la leyenda, Erzsébet Báthory (Isabel, en castellano), fue una cruel asesina en serie obsesionada por la belleza, la cual utilizaba la sangre de sus jóvenes sirvientas y pupilas para mantenerse joven en una época en que una mujer de 44 años se acercaba peligrosamente a la ancianidad.
Irremediablemente envuelta en el mito y la especulación, Elizabeth Báthory, también conocida como la "Condesa Sangrienta", se dice que es la asesina en serie más prolífica hasta la fecha, que supuestamente torturó y asesinó a cientos de mujeres jóvenes en los siglos XVI y XVII. Bathory was a Swedish black metal band formed in Vällingby in March 1983. Named after Hungarian countess Elizabeth Báthory, they are considered pioneers of black metal (alongside Venom and Mercyful Fate) [3] [4] and Viking metal.
Bathory was one of the pioneers of the first wave of black metal and Viking metal. Formed in 1983 by Quorthon, Jonas Åkerlund, and Frederick Melander, the band didn't come up with a name until the recording of Scandinavian Metal Attack. Jonas claims he and Frederick formed the band before Quorthon.
