Welcome to the Cathedral of St. Mary of the Assumption, the mother church of the Archdiocese of San Francisco. The Cathedral is the site of beautiful liturgies and concerts, and home to a vibrant parish community and large event center.
When Jesus commissions His followers to make disciples of all nations, He reveals God as Father, Son and Spirit. The mystery of the One God as a relationship of persons forms the sacred language of baptism, that moment when we are born into the life of God.
As a parish community, we celebrate God’s loving presence in our lives. In worship and sacrament, especially the Eucharist, we are nurtured and challenged to extend God’s kingdom of justice, truth, love and peace by growing in the spirit of Jesus, the Most Holy Redeemer.
