The Roosevelt dime is the current dime, or ten-cent piece, of the United States. Struck by the United States Mint continuously since 1946, it displays President Franklin D. Roosevelt on the obverse and was authorized soon after his death in 1945.

Roosevelt's head, and the rear or reverse contains an olive branch, torch, and an oak branch. John R. Sinnock was the designer and his initials js can be seen underneath Roosevelt's head if you look closely.

The obverse of the current dime depicts the profile of President Franklin D. Roosevelt and the reverse boasts an olive branch, a torch, and an oak branch, from left to right respectively. The word dime comes from the Old French disme ( Modern French dîme), meaning " tithe " or "tenth part", from the Latin decima [pars] . [1]
