Guillermo III de Inglaterra y II de Escocia (La Haya, 14 de noviembre de 1650-Palacio de Kensington, 8 de marzo de 1702), fue rey de Inglaterra, Escocia (bajo el nombre de Guillermo II) e Irlanda desde 1689 hasta 1702, gobernando junto a su esposa y prima, María II, hasta 1694.

Cuando subió al trono Jacobo II (1685), los ingleses sospechan que el rey restauraría el poder de la Iglesia católica. En julio de 1688, sus oponentes invitaron a Guillermo, que era el líder de los políticos protestantes europeos, a llevar un ejército de liberación a Inglaterra.
