James Knox Polk ( Pineville, Carolina del Norte; 2 de noviembre de 1795- Nashville, Tennessee; 15 de junio de 1849) fue el undécimo Presidente de los Estados Unidos desde 1845 hasta 1849. He also served as the 13th speaker of the House of Representatives from 1835 to 1839 and the ninth governor of Tennessee from 1839 to 1841.
