Filming
The series was renewed for a second season on March 13, 2017. Filming for season 2 began on April 13. The series is produced in Vancouver by Olaf II Productions Inc. Filming on The Austere Academywrapped up on May 17. Daniel Handler said he hoped Netflix would give the crew the go-ahead to film season 2 back-to-back with season 3.
