Li Xin (李信), courtesy name Youcheng (有成), was a Chinese military general of Qin during the Warring States era. Alongside Wang Jian, Wang Ben and other generals, Li Xin served under Qin Shi Huang (Ying Zheng) in his conquest of the six Warring States. He is also the great-great-grandfather of Li Guang, a Han dynasty general.

Shin's character is based on the real-life general of Qin, Li Xin, however Li Xin was born of noble lineage. Li Xin is the fifth-generation ancestor of Li Guang, the Flying General, who served the Han dynasty and is the ancestor of the founder of the Tang Dynasty Emperor Gaozu of Tang who was born as Li Yuan.

He was not disappointing in real history. The defeat was not due to a blunder by li xin, but due to a blunder by Qinshihuang himself, who assigned the traitor Shouheikun (Changpingjun) to a city behind li xin. Hara chose li xin because there is very little record about him, so there is a lot of room for fictional creation.
