Louise Farrenc (née Jeanne-Louise Dumont; 31 May 1804 – 15 September 1875) was a French composer, virtuoso pianist and teacher of the Romantic period. Her compositions include three symphonies, a few choral works, numerous chamber pieces and a wide variety of piano music.

21 de mar. de 2024 · Louise Farrenc (1804 – 1875) was a French composer, pianist and teacher. Her family and upbringing were very bohemian, and she grew up in a cultured society which included sculptors, painters and, significantly, artistic women.
Farrenc is best known as a composer for her chamber music output, having written a large collection of pieces for solo piano as well as a nonet for string quartet plus wind quintet, a string quartet, and several piano trios, among others. She also wrote two concert overtures and three symphonies.
