24 de mar. de 2024 · George Lucas changed Anakin's Force Ghost from Sebastian Shaw to Hayden Christensen in Return of the Jedi. Lucas attributed Christensen's young Force Ghost to Anakin having metaphorically died as Darth Vader.

In 1983, he appeared in the third installment of the original Star Wars Trilogy, Return of the Jedi, as the redeemed Anakin Skywalker, as well as Skywalker's ghost in the original 1983 theatrical release of the film.

In 1982, Shaw was approached by George Lucas to make an appearance in the final episode of his Star Wars films, Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi (1983). The role was the small but crucial one at the film's climax of the unmasked Darth Vader (Anakin Skywalker) and in the final scene as Anakin's ghost.
