The Beatles/1962-1966, también conocido como Red Album o el Álbum Rojo en el mundo hispano, es una compilación de las canciones del grupo de rock británico The Beatles desde 1962 hasta 1966, que fue lanzado junto con el álbum The Beatles/1967-1970 (también llamado Álbum azul).
Even though the group had success with cover versions of songs, particularly "Twist and Shout", 1962–1966 contains only songs composed by the Beatles. The album omits any George Harrison compositions from the era, such as " Taxman ", as the content is entirely Lennon–McCartney originals.

18 de oct. de 2010 · The Beatles 1962-1966 and its sister album 1967-1970 were the first Beatles compilations following the group’s split in 1970. The tracklisting for both collections was compiled by Allen Klein, and were approved by the former members of The Beatles.
An iconic cover photo. The cover photo was taken by photographer Angus McBean and is from the same session that produced the cover photos for Please Please Me and The Beatles No. 1. He recreated the photo in 1969 for the aborted Get Back album, and it was later used for the sister compilation 1967-1970 as well as the back cover to 1962-1966.
