Revered by the Na’vi in their lives, lore, and history, the ikran or banshee as the RDA named it (for its piercing cry), is a cornerstone of the Na’vi’s way of life. The Omatikaya have a particular connection to the mountain banshees that roost deep within the Hallelujah Mountains.
Biography. This ikran belonged to a colony that resided on top of Mons Veritatis in the Hallelujah Mountains. In 2170, he was tamed by Colonel Miles Quaritch, thanks to him being reborn as a recombinant and possessing queue that could form tsaheylu with the animal.

They are 5-7m long, with a wingspan of 13.9m at least. They are carnivorous animals, feeding on Hexapedes, Prolemuris, Stingbats, etc.
