5 de ago. de 2009 · I still think these are the best 5 strings out there for under $1500. I did the Bart upgrade to mine, as well as added an EMG preamp. Made a huge difference, it covers everything. However, what really brought my Brute to life was the DR Black Beauty strings. To me they are the perfect strings for this bass.
The headstock features the super-cool signature Brubaker design, and no front facing fret markers make this bass look sleek and modern. Don't forget about the amazing Brubaker bolt-thru neck joint; a deep neck pocket that gives you the best of both the neck-through and bolt-on worlds.

20 de dic. de 2011 · The Brubaker Brute JJX-4 is a well-executed bass with a versatile palette of modern-to-vintage tones, nice build-quality, a good preamp, and a neck that is satisfying to play. The instrument has great balance and won’t wear one’s shoulder out with excessive weight.
Just a sample of the tone of my Brute. Excuse the sloppiness. Lol The bass has been modified w/ Carvin J99R pickups and an ACG preamp.
