Batou es un personaje ficticio perteneciente a la franquicia japonesa de manga y anime Ghost in the Shell, creado por el artista de manga Masamune Shirow y los productores de cine Mamoru Oshii y Kenji Kamiyama.
El Batou de las películas de Mamoru Oshii es muy diferente de la de las dos series, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex y Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex 2nd GIG. En la primera película y su secuela Batou es mucho más reservado, introvertido y brusco.
