When you get an item box you can press L a few times to get something from the item box early.
On the sixth turn, you'll notice a red and white line ahead of a U-turn. You can press R to skip over the turn, if you jump from the right position. You may have to experiment for awhile to find the best place from which to jump.

Place first in all cups with at least one star. After the credits roll, you'll return to the title screen and find that it has changed. For instance, you might see Peach with her glider on the top screen, instead of Mario, Luigi, and Bowser. Peach will also call out "Mario Kart 7, let's go!"

If you press the brake and accelerate at the same time, you can turn on a fixed spot, but you won't go anywhere. It's great in battle modes.

This is a major short cut for the course GCN Dino Dino Jungle in the lightning cup. When you reach the blue accelerator ramp towards the end of the course, use a mushroom, and then press down on the circle pad. You should go extremely high. If you look to the left, you will notice that you are above the mountain separating you from the finish line. Simply glide over that small mountain directly to the left of you and you will be significantly in front of the rest of everybody else. However, if you go to far to the left while gliding over, you will go out of the course. Once you have perfected this, you can easily get a good 10 seconds in front of everybody if you are in 1st.

So after you beat a cup, a screen comes up with a trophy. You can use the circle pad to rotate a trophy.

To win stars by your profile, perform the following actions.
•1 Star - Beat all cups and modes with 1-Star rating
•2 Stars - Beat all cups and modes with 2-Star rating
•3 Stars - Beat all cups and modes with 3-Star rating
In order to do this, you need a mushroom. If you boost right when the shell is about to hit you (i.e. when it stops above you), you can avoid the explosion all together!

If you get a Tanooki tail underwater it can be used as a propeller to get a big boost.
