Homeless Shelters. DFSS has two roles in managing Chicago’s homeless shelter system: funding and coordination of shelter placement. DFSS funds and oversees a network of overnight and interim housing shelter programs that includes over 3,000 shelter beds at 50 separate facilities operated by 29 different delegates.

LPCS serves adult individuals ages 18 and up from all across Chicago who are at-risk of or currently experiencing homelessness. We serve people of all backgrounds regardless of gender identity, sexual orientation, race or ethnicity.
