Death and burial. Susanna died aged 66 years. She was buried in Holy Trinity Church in Stratford next to her parents. Her tombstone epitaph reads: Here lyeth the body of Susanna, wife of John Hall, gent., the daughter of William Shakespeare, gent.

Susanna Hall. The following is an imagined account from the life of Susanna Hall, William and Anne Shakespeare 's eldest child. Susanna died on July 11, 1649, at the age of 66 and was buried in Holy Trinity Church beside her parents.
Her cause of death is not known but the unusually high mortality rate that summer suggests an epidemic of some sort. The family estates were entailed but, as far as is known, Susanna made no arrangements to dispose of any personal belongings by will, although her sister Judith, her daughter Elizabeth, and her Hart cousins were still alive.
Susanna Hall was the oldest child of William Shakespeare and Anne Hathaway and the older sister of twins Judith and Hamnet Shakespeare. Susanna married John Hall, a local physician, in 1607. They had one daughter, Elizabeth, in 1608. Elizabeth married Thomas Nash, son of Anthony Nash on 22 April 1626 at Holy Trinity Church, Stratford-upon-Avon.
