Romsdalen is a valley in the western part of Norway. The 60-kilometre (37 mi) long valley runs through Rauma Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county and Lesja Municipality in Innlandet county. It is the valley of the Rauma river, from Old Norse word Raumsdalr which means Rauma valley.
Romsdalen is not one or the other. Fjords meet mountains and Norway's wildest peaks meet gentle mountain ranges. Romsdalen has everything, from the most extreme activities to the tranquility of the mountains. In Romsdalen you will find Europe's most varied mountain experiences.
